Marion’s ‘No Need to Knead’ Brown Bread/Scones


200 grs wholemeal flour

200 grs plain flour

1 tsp granulated sugar

1 heaped tsp bread soda

1 level tsp salt

2 tbsp mixed seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, chia, sesame)

Buttermilk to mix

Sesame seeds to sprinkle on top


Combine all ingredients and mix to a wet dough with buttermilk

For scones: Spoon into silicone patty/ baking tin.  I use an ice-cream scoop so that all scones are consistent in size

For a loaf: pour into a loaf tin, greased with some butter paper or oil or lined with parchment paper.

Sprinkle with sesame seeds

Bake until well risen, brown and firm to touch
